Radio Sparsha commissioned a special series called Suvarna Samputa, to commemorate the 50th year of the formation of the state of Karnataka. As the name goes, this ‘Golden Collection’ is a collection of some known and not so well-known interesting facts about the state, its history, literature and people. These include well researched narratives and drama adaptations of historical events and people profiles read out/enacted by popular faces and voices from film, theatre and various fields. This was a unique in-house production assignment that went on-air for three months.
Radio Sparsha plans to highlight this special series for its Best Of WorldSpace initiative. These 12 capsules will go on air on the May 2nd at the top of every hour, starting at 7am in the morning. Apart from these there will be stings that will highlight the series throughout the day. There will also be RJ mentions about the initiative. Of course the play list for the entire day would be the best of genres each show plays.

Gandharv will showcase some of the best interviews with classical musicians, the most special of their exclusive concert recordings, the depth of their library with respect to the various sub genres of hindustani classical music and some of the most loved music specials so far.
6-7am (IST) - Best of devotional bandishes sung by great maestros on Bhakti Prabhat.
7-10am (IST) - Best of Daily Shows ( all four daily shows—Sur Siddhi, Sur Tarang, Sur Sandhya & Raag Chiraag). A show by four RJs, personifying four shows, and they will be having a musical dialogue as raagas of that particular show with the raag of the other show.
10-12noon (IST) - Best of Face 2 Face & Gandharv Next (will edit and take short snippets from 30-35 interviews of various maestros done for Face 2 face and Gandharv Next.) We will take the best bytes of different maestros, their diverse views expressed on a particular topic and that will be interspersed with the description of behind the recording scenario by the presenters, like the description of Ustad Amjad Ali Khan’s mansion and in between the conversation his losing track of what he was saying. Often in between the conversation he said, “Haan to main kya kah raha tha…!!!!”
